Our pets astound us with their personalities and fill our hearts with their devotion, whether they are service animals, soul companions, superheroes, or mascots! As the first and only film festival devoted entirely to Pets and the Pet Companion Community, the “Pets Are People Too” (PRP2) Film Festival is a partnership between the Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell, MA, the Chelmsford Public Library and Chelmsford Center for the Arts in Chelmsford, MA, and the Lowell Film Collaborative.

The PRP2 Film Festival believes all living creatures deserve dignity, compassion, and respect, and that the complex relationships we have with the animal world — our pet companions in particular — are worthy of exploration and celebration. Divided into two program blocks, All Ages Entertainment as well as Education, the PRP2 Film Festival showcases short and feature-length narrative (fictional) and documentary films with the following topics:

• Inspiring pet and pet companion stories
• Pet and pet companion psychology
• Pets in service
• Pet loss and bereavement
• “Pet Featurettes” — Video footage & film shorts of Pawsitively Playful & Precious pet moments!
